FLYING COLORS
Flying Colors is my performance painting show that I have performed in four countries (Italy, England, Singapore, and all over The United States) and for thousands of entertained people.
What is a performance painting show?
I basically get crazy with paint! I brush it, through it, and push it around with my fingers until it comes to life into a realistic painting. The process takes place on a stage, it is set to music, and each portrait takes about 7 minutes or two songs to complete. The music usually always refers to the subject I am painting.
May it be, Frank Sinatra, John lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Mick Jagger, Elvis, Jerry Garcia, Michael Jackson, The Blues Brothers, The Statue Of Liberty, a Bald Eagle, or just about anyone, anything or company logo.
I paint on large canvases or thick black paper. The size of the audience dictates the size of the painting. Small audience- 4 1/2 ft square paintings, large audience 6ft, 8ft, or larger paintings.
I usually talk to the audience before each painting and then play the appropriate music. I encourage the audience to sing along, make noise, clap, and to give me their energy as I paint. The canvas spins, the music plays, and somehow (with the help of many years of practice) a portrait surfaces out of the madness.
The resulting paintings become the property of the client and can be auctioned off at the end of each show. The paint is allowed to dry and in a few hours the portrait can be rolled up and easily transported.

Do you make a mess?
While it sounds like a messy job, I take great precautions as to not getting paint on anyone or anything. I paint with latex (water based) paint so if paint did get on anything, a damp cloth cleans it up quickly.
